These are the three songs I chose as potential candidates for my music video. The first song g is about the desires of a person who is imprisoned by love. He is compulsively devoted to his beloved and his head is filled with thoughts about her exclusively. The following song is likewise about love and the phases of breakup, but it is a slower and warmer acoustic than the previous video. Finally, the final song is about Conan Gray desiring nothing more from his ex-partner than the memories. The twist here is that his ex-partner appears to be following him about when he is trying to get over them. All three songs deal with the concept of love, yet each portrays a distinct feeling and intensity, providing a broad range of options.
WHY THIS SONG ?
I eventually decided on Ben Howard's second song. This song is about emotional fragility, and we can see how the artist is utilising the song to express himself via catharsis. This grew more intriguing to me since it is a really sentimental song with a highly creative rendition that may reach the audience's sentiments. I believed this might be a highly engaging and insightful video for the viewer, moving away from conventional genres that prioritise content above theme.
ABOUT MY ARTIST:

BEN HOWARD
Ben Howard is a singer-songwriter and musician from the United Kingdom. He was born in London, England, on May 24, 1987. Howard's music is typically described as indie folk, with acoustic guitar and quiet, introspective lyrics. Howard's music has earned critical praise and he has won multiple honours.
VIDEO INSPIRATION:
Due to my choice on going for the indie genre, I found very inspiring the music video "Chandelier" from Sia. The reason for this was the dancing in the video, with aspects of modern and jazz dance. The motions are angular and sharp, with rapid changes in direction and level. Maddie Ziegler's gestures are incredibly expressive, exhibiting emotions ranging from enthusiasm to sorrow.
The utilisation of space is one of the most stunning characteristics of the dance in the film. Ziegler goes across a vast, empty apartment, utilising the furniture and objects to create various heights and forms with her body. She also engages with the camera, gazing into it and utilising it as a dancing partner.
Lighting is also an important aspect of the dance. The video was shot in a darkened area with natural light streaming in through the windows. The lighting generates shadows and highlights, highlighting Ziegler's body lines and heightening the emotional intensity of the dance.
Eventhough this music video is from the pop genre, the artist interpretation of the dancing has inspired me to introduce elements of instruments and delicate dancing to express the fragility of the emotions in the lyrics.
Son Lux's "Lost it to Trying" is a song with a rich and complex message that may be taken in a variety of ways. The song is fundamentally about the fight to reach success, the sacrifices that must be made in order to pursue one's aspirations, and the toll that this may have on one's mental and emotional well-being. This is demonstrated by the violent black and white dancing, which results in a very individualised interpretation for the observer.
This ambiguous dancing has further inspired me to find a choreography suitable for the indie genre in which it will create an abstract narrative for the viewer

I've compiled several screenshots of different views, filters, and locations from previous music videos that have inspired me and are assisting me in developing my own story for my music video.
