A music video is a short video that goes along with a piece of music, usually a song. It is a visual depiction of the music that is intended to improve the listener's experience by incorporating a visual component into the aural experience.
There are different ways of composing a music video for example Live footage of the singer or band playing the song, a narrative or concept-driven tale, or a montage of pictures and footage relating to the song's topic or lyrics Special effects, animation, and other visual components may also be used to create a distinctive and compelling visual experience.

Special effects are used in many music videos to enrich the visual experience and create a distinct and distinctive style. These effects include colour grading, filters, and CGI. In general, music video conventions are designed to create a visually appealing and memorable experience that complements the music and promotes the listener's enjoyment of the song.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MUSIC INDUSTRY & FILM
Although there are some parallels between the music and film industries, they are different enterprises. Here are some important distinctions between the two industries:
The music business is primarily concerned with the production, distribution, and marketing of music, whereas the film industry is primarily concerned with the production, distribution, and promotion of films. The creative process for music is typically more focused on the music itself, including songwriting and recording, whereas the creative process for films involves a wide range of activities, including screenwriting, casting actors, designing sets and costumes, filming and editing the film, and adding special effects. A main difference between this two industries is that The music business earns money mostly from the sale of music records, concert tickets, and merchandising, whereas the film industry earns money primarily from box office revenues, DVD and streaming sales, and licencing arrangements. Another obvious example is Music is often released via music stores, online music stores, and streaming services, whereas films are normally distributed via movie theatres, DVD and Blu-ray releases, and streaming services. Finally, The music industry is smaller and more focused than the film industry, with fewer big record companies and fewer high-profile musicians. The film business, on the other hand, has a greater number of studios and production firms, as well as a far larger workforce, creating a smaller budget available for the music industry and being available to have less expenses ad the film industry
INTERTEXTUALITY
intertextuality is the reference of a text in another text. intertextuality can be direct which means it is making a clear reference to other media text, while indirect intertextuality is when the media text has been influenced without being clear if you dont have previous knowledge.
This video by Robbie Williams "you know me"has direct intertextuality with the story line of Alice in wonderland and how the main character is wearing the same clothing as the white rabbit in Alice in wonderland.
This other video by Shania Twain "Man I feel like a woman" makes direct intertextuality to the music video "addicted to love" by Robert Palmer. We can see this due to the dressing style and position of the band while singing.
intertextuality is used to create a feeling of nostalgia towards the audience and appeal more to their viewer without adding anything else to their media product. this also gives an idea to the audience of the genre and narrative of the media text they are watching. This might appeal to an audience due to the connection of previous media text which they usually have previous knowledge of. also, intertextuality will create a sense of continuity to the previous media text increasing the escapism, identification, and social interaction to the viewer.
I intend to use indirect intertextuality in my music video to create reference to other music videos in which emotion has been expressed through artistic metaphors and symbols.
